LE RAISIN Co., Ltd. has launched the online magazine “JYOJIN,” dedicated to documenting and sharing “people, place and stories,” and has published its founding declaration.
JYOJIN is an online magazine that records and communicates the people, places and stories behind Japanese wine producers, regions and businesses.
About JYOJIN
Rather than choosing wine only by specifications or scores, JYOJIN aims to foster a culture of understanding and enjoying wine more deeply by learning about the aspirations and challenges of the people behind it and the character of the land.
The editor-in-chief is Misa Shimada, winemaking manager at Winery Passion in Chichibu and also winemaking manager at the urban winery Tokyo HATAGO Winery. Drawing on a multifaceted relationship with wine that includes not only production but also wine bars, wine shops and wine auctions, she plans to communicate what she sees as the “true value of wine” through an online magazine.

The first feature is scheduled to focus on Keita Okawachi, an intern at Winery Passion who placed among the top 20 of 609 participants nationwide in the Japan Sommelier Association’s blind-tasting selection.
