About the “JVA Variety Evaluation Program Meeting”
The meeting will share the characteristics and potential of highly novel wine-grape varieties that JVA is working to introduce, including tastings of trial wines.
It is also intended as a forum for participating producers and related parties to exchange views on future prospects.
Program
The meeting is scheduled to begin with an introduction to JVA's activities, followed by explanations of the variety evaluation program and introduced varieties, then a tasting of the 2024 vintage and a Q&A session.
Tomi, Nagano Prefecture, which hosts this meeting, is also planning to establish a new “Tomi Wine Lab.”
One of Japan's largest JVA mother-vine gardens is expected to begin operating at the lab.
The venue is La Vérité at the JA Shinshu Ueda Tomi Branch.
