Transforming into a "Plaza" for Experiencing Amusement
The footbath plaza is located in Isawa Hot Spring Town.
It is a popular spot to stop by briefly to soothe travel fatigue.
Now, Isawa Onsen Ryokan Cooperative and Machizukuri Isawa Co., Ltd., which operate Isawa Gensen Ashiyu Hiroba, have renewed this location.
Beyond the traditional footbath alone, a permanent cafe and play area have been set up, and projects leveraging seasonal and local resources will be held throughout the year, turning it into a "plaza" where various amusements can be enjoyed.
The aim is to become a "little amusement park" that raises the appeal and value of the area, serving as a spot where inn guests, tourists, and local residents can drop by.
Enjoying Koshu Wine
On June 1, "Ashiyu Kissa" (presented by Fuefuki Mustard) opened as a permanent establishment.
At the weekend wine bar, Koshu wine will also be featured, allowing guests to enjoy unique pairings with items such as mustard cookies that complement it.
Furthermore, a new way to enjoy the footbath is proposed, such as soaking your feet while sipping a cold drink.
Drinks made with vinegar using Yamanashi-grown grapes are also available.
Whether it is the evening of an early arrival before touring wineries or just before checking into a hot spring inn after a winery tour, you can pass the time while enjoying a footbath and wine.
Relaxing in the Footbath
In the footbath area, in addition to the area where Koshu wine can be enjoyed, there is also a play area for quoits (ring toss) and table tennis, as well as a BBQ area (BBQ equipment sets, tables and chairs, tarps, charcoal, etc. are available for rental).
