Kawanishi City, Hyogo Launches “THE MORNING DEWDROPS — Kawanishi Morning Dew”!

Back again this year, Kawanishi City in Hyogo Prefecture is releasing a rare wine made from its prized “Asadori no Megumi” fresh-picked figs.

Sales begin February 7 in limited quantities.

A Rare Wine Born from “Asadori no Megumi”

Kawanishi City in Hyogo Prefecture is one of Japan’s leading fig-producing areas and is known as the birthplace of modern fig cultivation in Japan.

This year again, the city will offer a limited quantity of a rare sweet fruit wine made luxuriously with 100% fully ripened “Asadori no Megumi” figs, a local specialty.

The product is called “THE MORNING DEWDROPS — Kawanishi Morning Dew.”

It is produced by Manns Wines Co., Ltd., a winery in Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

The fruit wine has a sweet fig aroma and fruity flavor, and is made using approximately 1.8 metric tons of figs.

It is said to have a gentle fig fragrance and a fruity taste.

A bottle worth watching even for fans of Japanese wine.
