"Hoshinoya Fuji," Japan's first glamping resort, will host the "Fuji New Year Good Fortune Stay" from January 1 to February 15, 2024.

Guests can also enjoy wine from Yamanashi Prefecture.

Here are the details.

About "Fuji New Year Good Fortune Stay"

"Fuji New Year Good Fortune Stay" is a plan offered by Japan's first glamping resort, "Hoshinoya Fuji."

It is a program designed to pray for happiness in the new year through a visit to Mount Fuji's oldest shrine, viewing a special sacred dance, and enjoying a good-fortune breakfast in a cabin overlooking the spectacular scenery of Lake Kawaguchi.

On the day prior to the shrine visit, guests prepare for the worship by crafting an original goshuincho (stamp book) and spending aperitif time around a bonfire reflecting on the past year.

Enjoy Wine from Yamanashi Prefecture Too!

Here are the highlights of the "Fuji New Year Good Fortune Stay":

・ Feature 1: Pray for happiness in the new year with a visit to Mount Fuji's oldest shrine and the viewing of a special sacred dance
・ Feature 2: Enjoy a good-fortune breakfast in a cabin with spectacular views, savoring the bounty of the land to the fullest
・ Feature 3: Reflect on the past year and prepare for the shrine visit

A notable highlight is the plan to enjoy a good-fortune breakfast in a cabin boasting an overwhelming location right before Lake Kawaguchi.

For example, the meal features dishes combining auspicious ingredients—such as burdock root, said to bring long and happy days when eaten, and lotus root, said to offer a clear view into a bright future—with local specialties from Yamanashi Prefecture such as young peaches, smelt, and simmered abalone.

It is also reported that an otoso mulled wine will be served, combining toso-san medicinal herbs—used to wish for good health and longevity—with red wine produced in Yamanashi Prefecture.

This program is sure to fully satisfy Japanese wine fans as well.
