On Tuesday, August 19, Sapporo Breweries Ltd. will release two wines nationwide in limited quantities: “Grande Polaire Yoichi Pinot Noir 2022” and “Grande Polaire Azumino Ikeda Chardonnay 2023.”
They are new additions to the rare Single Vineyard series.

About the Single Vineyard Series
Grande Polaire’s Single Vineyard series consists of limited-production Japanese wines made from high-quality grapes that express the individuality of a specific vineyard and concentrate the producer’s craftsmanship.
Each label depicts the natural landscape visible from its production area through a symbolic motif and layered colors inspired by traditional Japanese hues.
About the Two Wines
The two releases are “Grande Polaire Yoichi Pinot Noir 2022” and “Grande Polaire Azumino Ikeda Chardonnay 2023.”
“Grande Polaire Yoichi Pinot Noir 2022” is made from Pinot Noir, a notoriously demanding variety, grown with great care by contracted grower Hirotsu Vineyard.
It offers floral aromas reminiscent of violet and strawberry, soft tannins, vivid acidity and a velvety-smooth finish.
“Grande Polaire Azumino Ikeda Chardonnay 2023” expresses the character of Azumino Ikeda Vineyard, where cool nighttime temperatures during ripening help preserve abundant acidity.
The wine combines pineapple-like Chardonnay aromas with flavors from oak aging.
