The "Regional Exchange Area" of "fumotto Minami Alps," a commercial complex paired with "Costco Minami Alps Warehouse," which marks Costco's first entry into Yamanashi Prefecture, opened ahead of schedule on June 30.
A new type of regional revitalization facility through public-private collaboration—bringing together local government, a global enterprise, and local small-and-medium businesses—has made a fresh start.
Among its offerings are facilities where visitors can enjoy Yamanashi wine.

About "fumotto Minami Alps"
"fumotto Minami Alps" is a large-scale commercial complex situated on a 12-hectare site, operating in conjunction with "Costco Minami Alps Warehouse," which is making its first appearance in Yamanashi Prefecture.
It consists of three zones: "Farm Base," which showcases the appeal of Yamanashi's food culture and agriculture; "Mountain Base," which highlights outdoor attractions in the Minami Alps; and "Local Base," which presents the lifestyle and culture of Yamanashi.
In April next year, Costco Minami Alps Warehouse is scheduled to open, and in the summer of the following year, Reiwa 8 (2026), expansion work on the Regional Exchange Area will take place, expanding the total sales floor area by about 1.5 times from the current approximately 1,000 tsubo to 1,500 tsubo, alongside an increase in the number of stores.
It is expected to become a hub of commerce in Yamanashi during the Reiwa era, drawing many visitors from outside the prefecture.

As befits a large commercial complex in Yamanashi Prefecture, "fumotto Minami Alps" also places a special focus on wine.
In the "Farm Base," along with a direct meat sales shop, agricultural produce market, and a featured large buffet restaurant, an abundant selection of Yamanashi-produced wines is available, with a lineup of about 100 varieties at fumotto MARCHE and about 70 varieties at fumotto DINING.
It is shaping up to be an attractive facility where visiting allows you to fully experience the charms of Yamanashi.
