On Sunday, September 8, 2024, Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd.'s self-organized event, "The 38th Northern Harvest Festival Wine Carnival in Otaru ," will be held.
This event, which has been loved in Otaru for many years, will mark its final edition with this "Final."
Here are the details.
"Northern Harvest Festival Wine Carnival in Otaru"
"Northern Harvest Festival Wine Carnival in Otaru" is a self-organized event by Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. that has been cherished in Otaru for many years, offering a day packed with delicious food and fun events while enjoying the rich blessings of autumn.
This time, marked as the "Final," will temporarily draw the curtain on its history.
As the reason for this, they cite the earlier grape harvest seasons in recent years caused by the impact of climate change.
The event has come to overlap with the company's core business of winemaking, making it difficult to adjust staffing and scheduling to hold the event with all employees participating. In addition, the second week of September typically brings many hot days, with a few cases of heatstroke occurring each year, which has led to this edition becoming the "Final."
