A new item recommended for wine lovers has arrived from DEAN & DELUCA.
Created with BetulaN, the naturally dyed shopping bag uses dye made from grape skins and goes on sale Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

Using Grape Skins as Dye
The new product is part of a collaboration between DEAN & DELUCA and the natural-dye project BetulaN.
It is an upcycled version of the long-selling shopping bag, using natural materials from Hokkaido that would otherwise have been discarded and giving them a new life.
This is the third installment in the project, and this time the dye comes from grape skins produced during winemaking.
Rather than discarding the byproduct once its original role is finished, the skins are treated as a gift from nature and carefully used for dyeing.
Every Bag Is Unique
Just as wines made from the same grape variety can taste different from winery to winery, natural dyeing produces unique results even when the same material and conditions are used.
The cotton bag also gains character with use and folds compactly when not needed.
