About "Keiou Kairai Koshu"
"Keiou Kairai Koshu" is a Yamanashi-exclusive wine jointly developed by the Landlocked Yamanashi Marine Litter ZERO Project Executive Committee and Tomi No Oka Winery.
It was jointly developed as part of "The Nippon Foundation Umi-to-Nippon Project: CHANGE FOR THE BLUE," a marine litter countermeasure project promoted by The Nippon Foundation.
This time, only Koshu grapes harvested in scenic Yamanashi are used.
It is a wine featuring a harmonious blend of aromas reminiscent of Japanese citrus and a rich, rounded flavor evoking ripe peaches.
The Thought Behind the Label
In recent years, the marine litter issue has become increasingly serious.
Approximately 70 to 80 percent of marine litter is generated in urban areas, and it is said that, for example, when it rains, litter on the streets flows into rivers and waterways and eventually reaches the ocean.
Therefore, the Landlocked Yamanashi Marine Litter ZERO Project Executive Committee carried out litter cleanups even within the "landlocked prefecture" of Yamanashi, and ran a campaign soliciting photos from participants.
This time, those photos were compiled into mosaic art and applied to the label design of the Koshu wine "Keiou Kairai Koshu" with the message, "What we can do now for the ocean of the future."
