Back Again This Year: Nishi-Nippon Railroad Launches the 2025 Amaou Premium Sparkling Wine!

Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. will begin sales of the 2025 vintage of “Amaou Premium Sparkling Wine” on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

The wine is produced by Kyoho Winery.

Here are the details.

About “Amaou Premium Sparkling Wine”

“Amaou Premium Sparkling Wine” is a popular product sold by Nishi-Nippon Railroad as part of its efforts to promote the “sixth-sector industrialization” of agriculture.

First launched in 2013, the product is now in its 13th year.

It is made with Amaou strawberries carefully grown in Yanagawa, a waterside city in the Chikugo region of southern Fukuoka Prefecture.

The hand-picked strawberries are vinified at Kyoho Winery in Kurume, at the northern foot of the Mino mountain range, where the winery has a history spanning half a century.

What’s Inside

Each bottle of Amaou Premium Sparkling Wine uses around 50 Amaou strawberries. Because it is produced by hand, the wine is said to capture the beautiful ruby color, rich aroma, and flavor distinctive to Amaou.

It is a premium wine born from connections along the railway line, bringing together agricultural bounty and the “Shizuku-zukuri” production method.

Around 3,000 bottles will be produced.

Sales locations include selected Nishitetsu Store locations, Nishitetsu Ensen Eki Miyage inside Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, Kyoho Winery’s Forest Shop MINOU, and aboard THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO, making it a relatively rare item.
