About the “AJU Wine Festa in Tajimi Monastery”
The “AJU Wine Festa in Tajimi Monastery” is a wine event hosted since 2004 by the social welfare corporation AJU Center for Independent Living at Tajimi Monastery in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture.
It is a popular event where, just once a year under the autumn sky, visitors can enjoy wine beneath the monastery's vineyards.
About the “AJU Wine Festa in Tajimi Monastery”
The “AJU Wine Festa in Tajimi Monastery” marks its 21st edition this year.
It features more than 20 varieties of wines, including wines brewed from grapes harvested at Tajimi Monastery, carefully selected wines from Komaki Winery, and wines from wineries across Japan.
In addition, upon admission on the day of the event, tickets are exchanged for a “Wine Festa Original Wine (720ml),” an “Original Wine Glass,” and “Mineral Water (500ml).”
The wine glass can be used as your own glass during the event.
The food menu is also rich with offerings centered around the concept of pairing with wine, and wine by the glass as well as soft drinks will be sold at the venue. Bottles of wine you like can be purchased as souvenirs, and events will also be held, including a wine seminar by sommelière Sachiko Shima and live stage performances by Tatsuya Kawarasaki, and Ken Valdis & Jun Kobayashi.
