Characteristics of "Novello-Vello"
"Novello-Vello" is a new product made from 100% Sangiovese, an Italian grape variety produced by Okayama Wine Valley.
This wine is crafted from late-harvested Sangiovese carefully grown using the traditional pergola trellis system that Okayama takes pride in, with the berries hand-destemmed from the bunches, and slowly vinified using carbonic maceration.
It was created with the imagery of leisurely enjoying wine while immersing oneself in a chill, mellow, and amber mood at a seaside cafe or similar setting.
Inspired by Tametomo, the Beloved Dog of Okayama Wine Valley
The wine name was inspired by the Italian word "Novello," meaning new wine, along with the affectionate licking attacks ("bero-bero") from Okayama Wine Valley's beloved dog, Tametomo-sama, resulting in the name "Novello-Vello."
The name also draws inspiration from alcohol-related words such as "nonbee" (drinker) and "bero-bero ni you" (getting dead drunk).
Out of respect and affection, the label features Tametomo-sama as its motif.
"Novello-Vello" is available in a limited release of only 567 bottles.
Because reusable bottles are used, they can be repurposed after drinking the wine.
