“Natural Wine Festival 2025 in Metsä” will be held on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Metsä Aukio (the plaza in front of Market Hall) and Nordic Square.
At the opening ceremony on the first day, special guest Higuchi-kun of the comedy duo Hige Danshaku, a certified wine expert, will appear and lead a toast with “lake-bottom-aged wine” that was submerged in Lake Miyazawa inside Metsä Village.

About the Opening Ceremony
“Natural Wine Festival 2025 in Metsä” is produced by Musashi Winery and will be held at Metsä Village, a Nordic lifestyle experience facility operated by Metsä Co., Ltd.
The opening ceremony on the first day will feature wine expert and comedian Higuchi-kun of Hige Danshaku as a special guest.
Only guests who purchase wine tickets will be able to taste “Ogawa Shokoshi 2021,” a lake-bottom-aged wine that was retrieved from Lake Miyazawa after one year underwater, and join Higuchi-kun in a toast.
After the toast, another wine will also be submerged in the lake for the following year.
Wine Pairing Program Also Planned
The event will also offer a wine pairing program with popular foods from Metsä Village.
Yuzo Fukushima, representative of Musashi Winery, will select wines that pair especially well with popular dishes at Metsä Village.
The program will introduce pairings with authentic natural craft wines made from 100% estate-grown grapes cultivated entirely without pesticides—not even Bordeaux mixture—with no chaptalization and no added SO2.
Guest wineries will also include Takeda Winery (Kaminoyama, Yamagata), Coco Farm & Winery (Ashikaga, Tochigi), and Villa d’Est Gardenfarm and Winery (Tomi, Nagano), among others.
This is a must-see event for natural wine lovers.
