Urban wineries have become a trend in recent years.
On upcoming Friday, May 20, the Kyushu region's first urban winery will finally open in Hakata.
Its name is "Hakata Wine Brewery Takenoya."

An Izakaya with an Attached Winery
"Hakata Wine Brewery Takenoya" is located on the 2nd floor of the JRJP Hakata Building.
It is an izakaya with an attached winery where guests can enjoy Hakata yakitori paired with selected wines.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the port arrival of the wine fermentation tanks imported from Slovenia was delayed, leading to an opening three months later than originally planned.
In-house brewing is scheduled to start in June, with sales and service planned to begin in September.
Pairing Wine with Guru Guru Torikawa
The theme of "Hakata Wine Brewery Takenoya" is pairing wine with "Guru Guru Torikawa" (spiral chicken skin skewers).
Guests can enjoy wines selected by a sommelier alongside dishes such as yakitori from Izakaya Takenoya, including "Hakata Guru Guru Torikawa," which sells 800,000 skewers a month.
Additionally, the establishment features an adjoining shop stocked with over 60 varieties of selected wines, and wines purchased there can be enjoyed in the restaurant space for an extra 990 yen.
The wine shop will also sell draft wine directly from the barrel by volume, making it truly a wine paradise.
